I have always been quite happy accepting that Azkaban is in the North
Sea. The North sea is not just to the "North" of the UK. It extends
most the way down the East coast of Scotland and England. The real
question is, where does the English Channel become the North sea?
*pulls up a map of the UK to see if this helps* Hmmm. If Azkaban were
in a very southerly area of the North sea then Sirius quick visit
would not have been too out of his way, and his journey north would
still have been substantial.
