As I see handling of the matter of Sirius telling Snape how to get 
past the Whomping Willow, Snape going in there in order to get one of 
the Marauders expelled, ending up in *big* trouble - but being saved 
by James Potter.

Sirius' part... we're supposed to hear him first and place judgements 
then. Withheld judgement until you hear the whole story. Innocent 
until proven guilty, right? And I don't like the word 'prank' here 
either. We don't know what Sirius was thinking before, during and 
after the matter. He seems to be blaming Snape for it...

In all other cases of rule-breaking we *are* shown the motives and 
actions of *both* sides.
