I'm not so sure.  I thought that they * agreed * to destroy the stone and,
after all, being 600+ years old I suppose you have * been there - done that
* more times than you care to remember.  Maybe Flamel did not feel so badly
about going after all this time.

I suspect the discussion was a gentlemanly one with wry smiles all around
and a perhaps slightly reluctant agreement to say goodby to life.
