I'm not sure if Ron wants to be an auror, either.

I have the feeling he might desperately want some
acknowledgement, some praise, anything...

That's why I think he blurts out all sorts of theories,
hoping to get a compliment, too, in that scene.

In GoF I was feeling pretty bad about Ron's and Harry's
falling out and I understand Harry's feelings, but I also
very much understand where Ron is coming from.

While many people think he has a wonderful life/family and
should just get over things, it isn't always that easy.
