These ideas about Peeves being in some way connected with Dumbledore
are interesting, but here's the idea I have:

We know Dumbledore is giving Snape "a second chance"... What if this
is true of Peeves, and that's why he refuses to "kick Peeves out"?
Does Peeves have a skeleton (or whatever a poltergeist would have)
in his cupboard that will emerge in the next book, which we gather
will have quite a bit about the ghosts?

And why is Peeves so afraid of the Bloody Baron?
