People assume that Colin's camera is a muggle one because that's what 
canon says, Jazmin. Canon point:

"He [Colin Creevy] had in his hands what looked like a normal muggle 
camara" (CoS, ch. 6, Sp. Ed., liberally translated).

Further on, Colin also tells Harry that to get moving photos, you just 
need an extra reveling liquid (after the three normal ones for red, 
green and blue).

If you're thinking that it might just *look* like a muggle camera, it 
is not the case. From GoF we know that wizard cameras are old 
fashioned-looking.
