Just to lend my support to this. We unfortunately have fanfiction to 
thank for the popular portrayal of Draco as the 'drop dead gorgeous 
sex god hero marries or otherwise Ginny'. If you actually analyse the 
portrayal in the books Draco is simply drawn as an unattractive and 
bullying, snobbish, spoilt brat and does not appear to have any 
hidden depths at all. As for joining the death eaters we shall no 
doubt find out.
