I don't think he meant that Cedric took the "right and
not easy" path.  Well he did, but not for this
particular circumstance.  Cedric exemplified
Hufflepuff and didn't do things the easy way.  He told
Harry about the egg.  He saying that was Cedric's
character, not applying it to this particular
occasion.  At least that's my take.

Also he is saying remember that when you take the easy
path (believing Voldie isn't back, perhaps?) you are
betraying Cedric.  You are doing other than he would
have, you are condemning others to his fate.  

If they forget Cedric, they forget that Voldemort
killed one of them.  They forget just how much of a
reason they have to stand up and fight.

Oh well, that's my interpretation.
