I don't really see it. As you say, Barty Jr's bones are "available" but his
soul isn't, so in what way could his father's soul-less bone be of any use?
What Barty Jr needs is spare "spiritual stuff", not spare "body stuff".
Personally, the mental connection I make is between buried bones and dogs.
Hmmm... do we know any big black dogs in the Potterverse? :-)
