I think it's in PS/SS, the first night at Hogwarts. Harry either hears a
voice or has a dream telling him to go into Slytherin. He hears voices
in his head all through CoS, but that turns out to be Parseltongue.
Apart from that, I'm stumped.

I think that the voice in his head Harry hears while fighting Imperius
is/was his subconscious mind trying to fight it. His willpower, if you
like. It seems the most likely explanation IMO.
