Exactly my thinking. When I made my argument, I tried to stick to what we've
seen so far and not do too much theorizing about what could happen in the
future. Surely Crouch's death will have some sort of effect on him. Whether
he takes the good path or the bad one, and if he does take the bad path, if
he sees the error of his ways and reverts back to the good one in the end.
If he chooses good, either immediately or eventually, we'll know he's truly
a Gryffindor.

But thus far, I think the Sorting Hat put Percy in the right place.
