Gail asked: <snip> Where in the books does Dumbledore tell Harry that "Scars come in handy" and that he himself has a scar on his knee that looks like the London Underground? I remember reading it but, gosh darn, I don't know where. I was *sure* it was in CoS, but I've just went through it to no avail. I'm just now skimming through PoA. Am I missing something here? <snip>

It is in the first book. He doesn't tell Harry though, it is said to McGonagall. The quote is:
"Couldn't you do something about it, Dumbledore?"
"Even if I could, I wouldn't. Scars can come in handy. I have one myself above my left knee that is a perfect map of the London Underground. Well -- give him here, Hagrid -- we'd better get this over with" (p. 15 US hardback)

Hope that helps you out.

-- Meg (who has one more test to go this week in her first test block of medical school, and the vicious caffeine hangover to go with it)
