Apart from the fact that it's quite common in Germany, no.
It's reminiscent of 'Grendel' in Beowulf - which either means 'storm'
or 'angry/fierce'
But a quick trawl of the internet gives several meanings
for 'Grindle' in several languages - including narrow ditch, drain
(OE), a type of fish in Carolina, or a breed of dog.
'Grendel'is probably the best bet - 'fierce/angry' seems appropriate
enough for a Dark Lord.
