I have always assumed Hagrid was exaggerating or viewing the world in 
overly simplistic terms (lets face it, not the brightest sausage on 
the barbie) when he said that "there hasn't been a wizard go bad that 
wasn't in Slytherin".  It simply makes no sense - otherwise people 
sorted into Slytherin would just be removed from their parents and 
subjected to intensive training in manners and sensitivity: -)
