of the Muggle world; after all that would mean abandoning their families, and

Wow, ya know I never thought of that before! What do the no-longer-Muggle children tell their Muggle friends? "I'm sorry, we can't be friends anymore because I'm a witch"? Somehow I doubt it. I wonder if they are all forced to lie and leave behind their old Muggle buddies? Now THAT would be a good pretext for a fic...hrmm...
