Harry and the Dursleys

Hello all.  I have another idea about why the Dursleys
didn't give Harry to an orphanage to add to the
growing mushpot:

It's canon that Harry is safe while with the Dursleys
because of their blood connections.  What if that same
blood connection *forces* Harry and the Dursleys to
stay together?  What if the magic and all the
protection given to Harry makes it physically and
magically impossible for them to live apart (excluding
visits-Harry can visit the Weasleys but he can't live
with them) until they die or cannot take care of him
anymore?

Just a wacky idea.
