I, on the other hand, imagine that *Dumbledore* is responsible for 
restoring the wand to at least some working order, and probably also 
for the pink umbrella, too! :)

After all, we know that Dumbledore realises the value of a bit of 
rule-breaking when the circumstances warrant it!
