And another thing about Neville.  As Harry discovers, Neville's parents were
popular during Voldemort's reign of terror.  Frank Longbottom was an auror,
and Neville has a quiet  courage all of his own.  He visits his parents on
vacation, even though they don't recognize him.  I think he will come into
his own, and be a dramatic part in the coming books.
