   I've always considered good chess players to be VERY strategically 
minded. Not only do you have to understand the power of the different 
pieces, but you have to know how to use them effectively, you have to 
make tough decisions and sacrifices, and you have to be able to 
predict the moves of your opponent. Personally I think Ron will be 
able to transfere these skills to the Quidditch pitch. Harry has raw 
talent, certainly, but his position as Seeker makes him rather cut 
off from the rest of the team, and certainly in terms of interacting 
and understanding what's required to work effectively as a team. I'd 
kinda like Ron to be made Captain!
