I'm thinking it might be what's /behind/ that door, not the door 
itself. Not knowing things can be really scary. Little kids often 
have nightmares about what's behind a door, or under the bed...they 
can go check and see there's nothing, but Harry wouldn't be able to 
do that and he can just /feel/ there's something behind that door, 
but he doesn't know what exactly it is. This is just guessing, 
though, and the only thing I could come up with!
