Canon is anything that actually happens in the books or that Rowling says in 
her interviews.

The original title of the book is "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, 
Her American publishers pressed her to change the name for American 
audiences.In the rest of the world its called HP and the Philosopher's Stone. 
 (duplicate scenes were shot for the scenes where the stone is mentioned by 
name.)
