You're right, I should have looked it up before I commented. I knew
there was a date on the Deathday Cake, but I forgot that is
specifically say, "DIED 31st October 1492".

Although, I suspect the noted discrpancy comes from JKR inadvertently
mixing up birthdays and death days. It's not easy to keep track of all
those things.
