I've heard this a lot, and up to a point it's true, but *only* up to 
a point. I recently saw the movie and was astounded at the similarity 
between the shrieking shack scene in PoA and the scene in which Javert
tries to arrest Valjean at Cosette's mother's deathbed. I mean, it 
was practically line-for-line Snape/Black confrontation stuff even 
ending with Javert unconsious on the floor after being head-banged 
against the wall. 
After that, however, I really think the Snape/Javert comparison ends. 
At least I hope it does before Severus hurls himself off a bridge!
