I'd very much like to see that quote. I am pretty much up on all the 
interviews and I've never seen it. If you can find a quote by 
Rowling that says this, please please please share it!!!

In lieu of that quote, I have to say that I agree from plenty of 
other hints that it is unlikely that any of the FOJ (Friends of 
James) were in any other house than Gryffindor.
