Jean, I'm going to take your side in this one.  I believe that it's 
the combination of the wood *and* the core that makes a wand unique.  
In other words, there is no other wand that exactly matches either 
Voldemort's or Harry's, although the cores are from the same animal.  

In fact, in GoF, Dumbledore states that the cores of the two wands 
are from two different feathers from Fawkes (sorry, I'm lazy and I'm 
not going to go get the book to get the page numbers).  That would 
make the cores even more different.  I think.

At any rate, I hope I've given you some more material for your side 
of the disagreement!
