  Me:
  Don't recall any references in canon to teacher's pets, but we haven't seen the teacher's private rooms, so maybe there are more pets around. If they had pets they wouldn't be in the classrooms, they would be in their private rooms so we just don't know, we'll have to guess. 
  What kind of pet do you thing suits Snape? A raven? A black cat? ...
