And now me: 

To use another example here - what about Fred & George's Canary Creams? The "victim" turns into a canary after eating one, but the spell only appears to last for about 10 minutes, at which point the "canary" moults and the person is restored to their original state.

I'm sure that Professor McGonagle would be very proud that they had been paying such close attention in her class - if she only knew!
