And now me:

I seem to recall reading somewhere, and of course I can't recall exactly where - the dark mark is used similarly to a portkey, which means that Voldemort knows where they are headed, even if they are unsure of his location at the time of his summons. This would make sense, as the DE actual locations could be ANYWHERE at the time of the summons.
