That demonstrates that he's a superb potions *maker.*  The world is full of 
people who excel at what they do, but can't teach it worth beans.  (But note 
that I do not subscribe to the "those who can't, teach" fallacy.  Feh.)  In 
many cases, this is because it's so by-god frustrating to have to start from 
scratch and deal with people who don't know things that, to the expert, are 
second nature and seem childishly simple.

Snape is a very nearly peerless brewer of potions, but do we really know how 
well he teaches the kids to brew potions of their own?
