And me:

I always thought the term of Squib was equivalent to Mudblood - everyone knows what it means - but it's not necessarily a term used in civilized company.  And just to clarify - a squib is a non-magic person with both parents magical and a mudblood is magical with non-magic parents (eg Filch & Hermione).

In Neville's case his family would definitely refer to him as muggle - unless they're trying to insult him.
