   I had no idea that JKR cried when she wrote Cedric's death! While 
it certainly makes sense, I find it interesting that something that 
was to many people (most of the people I've talked to anyway) "Oh, 
that's a shame", was something that was very painful for JKR. The 
possibility of that quote being false seems to me much higher now, 
because, as you said, every death would be horrible to write (which 
is probably the reasoning behind people looking for the original 
source in the first place, but hey, I'm behind the times ;-) )
