Okay, I can see your point :). The only rebuttal I can think of is this & its 
purely based on my personal interpretation of Dumbledore. Hagrid has very 
loose lips & perhaps telling Hagrid anything more then he *absolutely* needed 
to know (like it might be hard to get him/hasn't gotten his letters/he's out 
to sea/etc) would run the risk of Hagrid slipping Harry way too much 
information before Dumbledore was ready for him to hear it.
