You are right. Not any feather, a tail feather, as Ollivander describes in PS, 
I think. If there is another explicit requirement for the feather that would 
exclude the golden tail feather of Fawkes and she has not given it by now I 
would feel cheated by Rowling, you know.

Because the only golden feathers that Fawkes has are in the tail, I think is 
described in GoF. Sorry if I can't quote canon but I don't know the books by 
heart and my boyfriend has borrowed all of them from me (he's quitting 
smoking).

Well, it is again my boyfriend. He 'predicted' before OoP that:
Neville's birthday was near Harry's (he said 24h of difference)
Neville's book was going to be important and it would have to do with his 
family, curing his fathers or something like that.

I didn't give him credit, because it was a part of his 'Neville and Harry are 
Twin brothers'. It included things like the real Neville Longbottom born dead 
or killed by Voldie first. He also has theories as DD being a vampire, so 
it's no wonder I don't defend his ideas in this forum, but when I read the 
phrophecy and the mimbulus mimbletonia thing, I started looking at him other 
way, that's for sure.

I'm with you on this. The book and the plant, together, are going to be 
useful.
