Don't you think it could be just personal preference?  I wear 
boxers, while my brother wears bikini briefs, and a frien of ours 
goes combat ready as the wizard did in GOF.  So I see no corelation 
between under garments and the pureblood non-pureblood thing.  Just 
my observation.
