Yep. I just checked it out and you are absolutely correct. The book 
says 20 brooms. I totally agree that Harry ought to know the names of 
the Slytherins, at least the one's in his year. Their parents could 
be DE's or conversely, there might be a couple of "good" Slytherins 
in the mix. It couldn't hurt for Harry to be friendly with them. Good 
catch on that broom scene. Gives us a pretty good idea of how many 
students there are. I know JKR said there were about 1,000 students 
at Hogwarts, but that number doesn't seem to wash.
