Portia's 2 knuts:
I would assume that most muggle/witch or wizard matches would involve 
witches or wizards that have some muggle ancestry.  If one has 
muggles in his/her family, he/she would just by default have greater 
experience with the muggle world (like Hermione and Harry), and also 
would have contact with other muggles (that may be romantic 
prospects) through the family.  As far as Hagrid's parents go (not 
that the picture is any more pleasant), wasn't Hagrid's dad a wizard?
