I teach middle school (12-14 year olds). In a typical class of 25-35 students 
there are some who, even after being in the same class for a whole year, 
still do not know the names of some of their classmates. I don't think Harry is 
any different. As for myself, I occasionally look through my HS yearbook and 
come across people who I didn't know existed while I was in school.
