Well, technically we never had the shape of Lily's eyes described to us
before. In fact, I found "almond shaped" to be an unusual way to describe
eyes. The only other reference to "almond shaped eyes" that I can find was
in GoF, the Sphinx in the maze has almond shaped eyes. Pulling from that
information and the information that JKR gave in another interview when
asked (regarding Harry having Lily's eyes) if some people could do magic
with their eyes. In that interview her response was a bit, er, suspicious.
:) She kept asking why they were asking, and finally said that they were
very clever. That there would be more coming on that. I don't know much
about the sphinx, though, other than that it guards treasure, but it was the
only connection in HP I could find to the almond shaped eyes. Anyone know
more?
