I agree!  I could see Neville's Mumbly - Bumbly Plant, the gift he 
got from Gram? in Book 5 (I can remember the name of it) as some kind 
of special part of a memory-restoration potion for his folks.  

Plus, I still think there's a clue to all those bubble gum wrappers- 
like there's a secret message from his mom in them that he hasn't 
figured out yet.  But that's just me! :)
