About the age difference between Lucius and James, Sirius, etc, I 
think that we know for sure that they have at least 7 years of 
difference, because Lucius was at Hogwarts at the same time than 
Arthur and Molly, and Molly says once that the Whomping Willow was 
planted the year after she left Hogwarts (and we know that it was 
planted the year Remus came to Hogwarts)...
