Traci again-

The only reason I used Sirius as an example and not James or Lily (or any
other family member from the Potter or Evans' clan) is because of how bittersweet
the end result was. I guess my question should've included James and/or Lily
too. Still, the question in my mind remains. Would a portrait made of
Sirius, James or Lily (or anybody for that matter) still be able to hold that
person's "essence" and communicate to the living even if it had been painted years
before their death? Furthermore, if so, say a portrait was made of someone
when they were a child, would the essence of the child speak to the living
instead of the adult as we know them from the books? I'd like to hear other's
thoughts on this. If this has been posted previously, please forgive me.
