reading the books i have an impression that Harry will defeat 
Voldermort but not actually kill him. I've read Dumbledore often 
saying/commenting that there are worse things than death.
Like in book4 when Dumbledore commented upon the room of requirment. 
It was this comment that pursuaded harry (and his gang) to go look 
for it as a solution to their problem in book5
