Personally I think people are reading into the grey underwear thing 
a bit too much. It could be possible that he just likes the color 
grey and he bought grey underwear. Just because they're grey doesn't 
mean he's poor. The vampire thing could be possible but I don't 
believe it but I'm not that learned in vampire lore. But if people 
think he's a vampire, more power to you. :-)
