I'm starting to think Snape isn't really spying on VD. As you rightly 
point out, there is too much evidence out there that Snape is with 
Dumbledore. I can't imagine what he would be doing, but the prospect 
of him spying directly on VD is starting to seem much more unlikely. 
To tell you the truth, I don't know what the hell is going on anymore.
