I''m not sure I buy the Snape-half-vampire theory, but here's another log for that fire. Remember when Snape assigns Lupin's DADA class the essay on werewolves? Clearly a shot at Lupin, and Herminone picks up on it. Later, we hear Lupin comment on the essay he assigned the class - the subject - vampires. Think this might have been a bit of quid pro quo to old Snivellus?
