Thanks Katrina I had missed that.  However, how do we know it was a 
mistake in the UK first edition?  Surly that came first before the 
US 'translation'.
I'd be interested in what JKR has to say about it. Especially if 
there turns out to be a connection between Uncle Algie and Algernon 
Rookwood. 
Of course it could be just a wild goose chase anyway. Lol
