I completely agree.  I hate most of the drawings of characters in the 
books (with the exception of Dumbledore)  and it's gotten to the 
point where I don't even register that there are drawings at the head 
of every chapter.  After you posted that comment about her drawing of 
Snape, I had to go look for it though.  It is a crime against 
humanity! (or at least illustration) I actually missed it my first 
time through, thinking it was someone else.  It actually looked very 
similar to how I imagined Karkaroff, who I detested from his very 
first word.  Where does it say Snape is balding and has a goatee?  
Did I miss that?  I find that hard (though not impossible) to 
believe.  I doubt Grandpre has even read the character discriptions, 
let alone the books themselves.
