That theory won't work. A dragon's eyes are it's WEAKEST point (GoF
US hardcover pg 406) as Sirius said in his letter to Harry in the
chapter The Yule Ball:
"I was going to suggest a Conjunctuvitis Curse as a dragon's eyes are
it's weakest point."
"That's what Krum did!" Hermione whispered.
And as we know, Krum's way hurt the dragon so much, it crushed a lot
of it's own eggs.
