Hi Wanda, 
The sections that you are referring to are about their upbringing and 
from what I can remember LV never refers to power or type of power.  
He also refers as you say to their looks and heritage.  I think LV is 
a little baffled by the fact that Harry does not hate the world 
because he is not a pureblood.  I think LV is so filled with hatred 
and evil that he cannot understand anything about Harry for all the 
good and love Harry possesses.
