Don't forget physically abused too.  He was often thrown up against 
walls and throttled by his uncle.  Beaten by his cousin in front of 
others. Forced to live in a cupboard, under the stairs.  Never hugged 
once for 10 years! Between the ages of 1 and 11. I can't imagine what 
that does to a child.
